Starting from a Happy Life

Today, I rushed to my data structures class with a bag of grapes and ended up eating them throughout the entire two-hour class. After class, a friend I knew suddenly said to me, “You’re living a very happy life～”

Hehe, actually, my mom has always said that I should make myself comfortable. Life is just one day after another, so why not make it more comfortable and interesting?

Many people are used to living monotonous lives, studying as students, working as employees, and then reaching the end of their lives with only a few bland memories. It’s not that this kind of life is bad. But since we’re only alive for a short time, why not make our lives more rich and colorful?

Speaking of learning, some people discussed with me the topic of pursuing a master’s degree or not. My idea is that whether or not to pursue a master’s degree depends on whether it interests you. If pursuing a master’s degree will make your life miserable, then go work instead. If work is also miserable, then don’t work and just stay at home.

To learn knowledge, memorizing books and taking exams are not the best choices. The best way is to have interest, so please cultivate some genuine interests before entering university.

Previously, a high school friend asked me, what is the ultimate goal of studying measurement and control engineering? I said that during my university years, the ultimate goal of this major for me is this project (URP). For me, the URP project is my Final Fantasy. Many things that I previously only thought about casually have finally become possible as my knowledge increases, which is very exciting for me. I can finally realize the cool ideas in my mind, and then clarify them step by step, making them even cooler. Yes, this is my university life, learning while realizing my dreams. With a goal, I’m no longer confused, and my eyes are no longer filled with a bunch of weird formulas and useless theorems. These things are all bricks that will be used to build my dreams, and what I’m doing is figuring out their positions and importance while learning. So this is why I chose to take courses like matlab, java, and data structures - they’re all important bricks.

As for me, having a goal means I won’t be confused, and the formulas and theorems that used to seem like a jumbled mess to me have become the building blocks of my dreams. I can see the position and importance of each one, and that’s why I’m taking courses like matlab, java, and data structures - they’re all crucial to my goals.
